Sophie Bayley
Laboratory Technician


Sophie has worked in molecular biology since finishing her undergraduate degree, from studying the molecular basis of disease in humans and insects, to assessing the importance of genetic factors in wildlife conservation programmes.  In the Childhood Epilepsy Group she supports research activities through lab work, collecting and analysing data, and maintaining sample collections and databases.  Outside the lab she enjoys travelling, experimenting with new recipes, and practical volunteering with the London Wildlife Trust.

  • Molecular techniques including DNA and RNA extraction, quality assessment, PCR amplification and other downstream processing
